IMMERSIVISM
"Immersivism...the art of the internet"

COMMUNITY ART
From the 1960s to the 1970s, groups of artists in Detroit, Michigan inhabited the Cass Corridor district to create art and preserve that ailing part of the city. In doing so, their actions helped to draw interest to the area and revitalize the arts in Detroit.
Immersive artists do the same when they are present in virtual worlds. Immersivist art communities engage their practice through planned group activities, challenges, and mass projects. Often the goal of these groups is to further art education through virtual means and to preserve the platform itself.
The following art communities welcome new members and provide regular events on their respective platforms.
